Chopin
and Candlelight
featuring
pianist
Lincoln
Mayorga with actress Nancy Rothman
Saturday,
May 19 at
7:30 PM
Old
Greenwich
Presbyterian Church,
Bloomsbury
Pianist
Lincoln Mayorga and actress Nancy Rothman join forces to present a
delightful and inspiring evening of the music of Frederic Chopin,
illuminated by letters and diary entries of Chopin and the Parisian
writer George Sand. She
and Chopin enjoyed a stormy 12-year affair, including their sojourn
to the
island
of
Majorca
during the winter of 1838-39—a remarkably productive period for
Chopin.
Lincoln
Mayorga is equally versatile and virtuosic in the varied musical
worlds of classical, popular, and jazz.
He performed in the soundtracks of such motion pictures as
Chinatown
and Ragtime; recorded with such artists as Barbra Streisand, Johnny
Mathis, and Quincy Jones; and performed with classical greats
including Itzhak Perlman, Michael Tilson Thomas, and the Moscow
Philharmonic. Equally
diverse is Nancy Rothman’s 30-year acting career on stage, film
television, and radio throughout the
United
States
and in
Europe
