Greetings from Raritan River Music!

Quick. Look behind. Wow. It’s been a crazy three years! But even through the adversity, we have been able to create so much inspiring music and to accomplish so much for the community – in spite of the challenges – all possible only because of your support and encouragement.

As you know, Raritan River Music (RRM) is much more than the concerts in May, with programs year round for school kids, seniors, and patients at health-care facilities around the region. RRM also creates a legacy of new compositions and recordings commissioned by RRM’s patrons, as well as presenting new music at each concert by local school-age composers; and now, creating video concerts for viewers near and far.

Over 33 years, however, the greatest achievement of RRM is the community created by the audiences, volunteers, trustees, and patrons of RRM. Musicians may not be able to perform surgery or put out fires, but there are times when a concert can heal a mortal wound or dispel the dark clouds for a while and make life worth living. That is what you, the supporters of Raritan River Music, have given to this community, to each other, for thirty years and counting. And, as the founders, that is what you have given to us.

Now. Stop. Take a deep breath. Listen. Look ahead. We have many challenges to come before us, and yet we have so much more we know we can accomplish.

Today’s exciting news is that we just received word of a new $9,000 grant from the Augustine Foundation. You can help us match that grant, as well as grants from the Hunterdon County Cultural & Heritage Commission / New Jersey State Council on the Arts, with your donation today.

Donations can be made by clicking here through the secure payment portal.

We also invite you to learn about making contributions of stock, estate planning, and employer matching funds.

Join us. Now. Together we will continue to make a difference in the lives of area residents and beyond.

Wishing you a healthy and a very Happy New Year,

Founding Directors

A RARITAN RIVER CHRISTMAS with NEWMAN & OLTMAN GUITAR DUO!

This video was created by Raritan River Music for the residents of our community who are not able to have musicians visit them during the holidays. We hope that you find peace and beauty within this glorious music.

The concert was recorded November 2020 at the historic St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Lambertville, Hunterdon County, New Jersey. All the music is arranged for two guitars by Laura and Michael. The project has been made possible thanks to special funding from the CARES Act, through Hunterdon County Cultural and Heritage Commission and the New Jersey State Council on the Arts, the Augustine Foundation, and patrons of Raritan River Music.

New music by Cuban composer Leo Brouwer, commissioned by Raritan River Music, is featured on the new Audiophile Vinyl LP, CD, download, and streaming by the Newman & Oltman Guitar Duo.
