More Music from Raritan River New Commissions plus Leo Brouwer 85th Celebration

Guitarists Laura Oltman and Michael Newman, founding artistic directors of Raritan River Music, have spent half a century working to develop a lasting literature for the instrument. Through RRM’s New Music Commissioning Program and the acclaimed “Music from Raritan River” CD of World Premiere recordings, dozens of new compositions have been performed and published worldwide.
This concert will highlight selections for an upcoming new recording of recent commissions, including new music by Pulitzer Prize winner Paul Moravec (New Jersey’s own), João Luiz (Brazil), Celil Refik Kaya (Turkey), and Cuban legend Leo Brouwer, whose 85th birthday is being celebrated this spring.
Special guests Celil Refik Kaya and João Luiz – the duo’s former students and now distinguished colleagues – will join Laura and Michael for this musical feast.

If you purchase an Online Stream ticket, a YouTube link to the streaming video of the concert will be emailed to you the morning following the concert. That YouTube link will be for you to stream a recording of the concert, available to view Sunday through Wednesday following each concert.
In-Person tickets purchased before Wednesday the week of the show will be mailed to you. In-Person tickets purchased Wednesday through Saturday the week of the show will be held at the door in your name.
